11-14 sept 2024 - El Grove-La Toja
FIRST IBEROAMERICAN ORGANIC CHEMISTRY SYMPOSIUM FOR YOUNG RESEARCHERS (IBEQO-I)
10 sept 2024 - Santiago de Compostela
Dear Colleagues,
On behalf of the Organizing Committee, it is my pleasure to invite you to participate in the fifth edition of the IBEROAMERICAN SYMPOSIUM ON ORGANIC CHEMISTRY (SIBEAQO-V). The symposium will be held in El Grove – La Toja (Pontevedra), Spain, from September 11 to 14, 2024. For the first time, SIBEQO-V will be preceded by a meeting aimed at young researchers in the field, I IBEROAMERICAN ORGANIC CHEMISTRY SYMPOSIUM FOR YOUNG RESEARCHERS (IBEQO-I), which will take place in the University of Santiago de Compostela, Spain. Further information about IBEQO-I is available here.
Previous editions of the Symposium SIBEAQO-I took place in Mar del Plata, Argentina (SIBEAQO-I, 2007), Santiago de Compostela (SIBEAQO-II, 2010), Porto, Portugal (SIBEAQO-III, 2016), and Cayo Santamaría, Cuba (SIBEAQO-IV, 2019). After the success achieved in the previous editions of the symposium, for SIBEAQO-V, we have selected El Grove – La Toja for this occasion. This village of Galicia is well-known for its natural environment, as well as for its exquisite gastronomy and its excellent wine. El Grove – La Toja is about 80 km away from Santiago de Compostela, an emblematic city of the Camino de Santiago that many pilgrims from all over the world visit every year, where the symposium IBEQO-I will be held.
The main objective of the Symposium is to promote a forum of scientific discussions among Organic Chemistry researchers of Iberoamerica, Spain and Portugal to promote the exchange of ideas, expertise and capabilities to build fruitful future collaborations across these countries. We are sure that this symposium will contribute to accelerate the development of the discipline, as well as to achieve greater integration between the scientists of iberoamerican countries.
The scientific program will include plenary and invited lectures, oral communications, flash poster presentations and poster sessions, covering hot topics in organic chemistry. The program will be complemented by an exciting social program.
Looking forward to welcoming you in Galicia in 2024!
Concepción González-Bello
